Things are going good in Bethel for the crew as they await the start of the Kuskokwim 300 tomorrow evening. They’ve continued to prepare for the race: packing/un-packing/re-packing, preparing food drops and another ‘leg-stretcher’ for the team.
Oh! Have you seen Jeff’s latest creation??
After months of planning and prototypes we’re ready to fly the newest Husky Homestead ‘tail dragger’ sled design up the Kuskokwim river for this weekends K-300. Built with the expert craftsmanship of Sled Dog Systems, with sewing done by Josh Schlosser. The sled is two parts, and the joints articulate to provide increased surface area for load weight distribution. The cooker design allows increased checkpoint efficiency as well as a two speed burner to provide a small controlled alcohol heater to provide “heated seating” during travel on some types of trail conditions.
Take it from us – the seat does keep you toasty warm and Jeff has created some delicious snacks from inside that cooker!
